Southern Cross Station – TV Enclosure

Southern Cross Station, Melbourne, VIC.

Highlighted here are the Aluminium housings re-designed & fabricated by Mitcham Laser, to protect & keep cool the TV Monitor Timetable Screens at Southern Cross Station, Victoria.

The project required our designers to enhance on a number of aspects on the existing design. One main function being to improve the cooling system to reduce the heat within the enclosure. For this we worked closely with the client and fan supplier through the design to create the optimum & most practicable system possible given the constraints of space allowed to mount back on to the existing ganrty. For this we including a variable speed thermal control to increase air-flow on warmer days and selected an energy efficient EC Fan which was air-freighted from Germany for the project. Other features included improving access to the screens and fans for servicing & maintenance if required, upgrading the panel mounting system & locking security and designing easy to replace & service filtration .
